Ad Tech Stack Audit
Know What Your Stack Is Really Doing
An ad tech stack audit shows how your tags, wrappers, platforms and data actually connect. Our team reviews each layer, flags duplicated tools, slow or broken calls and unclear vendor terms, then turns the findings into a short, ranked roadmap, so you know what each part is really doing and where to start.
Built for: Publishers, agencies and brands with a complex ad tech stack
What's included
The audit covers the technical setup, the data that moves through it and the commercial terms around it. Findings are written for both engineers and business owners.
Tag and Wrapper Review
We trace ad tags, wrappers, header bidding setup and tracking calls on live pages and apps. We find broken, slow, duplicated or outdated calls and note their effect on delivery and user experience.
QA & Technical SupportData Flow and Stack Mapping
We map how ad requests, audience data and reporting move between platforms. The result is a single diagram of your stack, showing overlaps, gaps and points where data is lost.
Consulting & Technical AdvisoryVendor Terms and Roadmap
We review contracts and fee structures in general terms, such as overlapping tools and unclear take rates, then draft a ranked roadmap with owners, sequence and dependencies for your team to follow.
Consulting & Technical AdvisoryWhy teams choose it
One Clear Picture of the Stack
Most teams inherit tools and tags over the years. The audit puts everything on one map, so you can see what is used, what overlaps and what is missing.
Fewer Hidden Delivery Problems
Tag and wrapper checks catch silent failures, slow calls and duplicated tracking that rarely show up in standard reports but affect revenue and user experience.
Better Vendor Conversations
Understanding what each vendor does and how it is paid helps you ask sharper questions at renewal and spot where tools duplicate each other.
A Roadmap You Can Act On
Findings are ranked by effort and impact, with clear next steps. Your team can run them, or we can deliver them as follow-on projects.
Services in this solution
Each part is delivered by the same AdOps Media team, so planning, execution and reporting stay in one place.
Illustrative example: what a finding looks like
This is an example of format, not a real result. Finding 3: two SSPs connect to the same inventory through different paths, so one auction may be reached twice. Evidence: network request logs on three sample pages. Impact: possible duplicate bid requests and slower pages. Suggested action: keep one path, test removal on a share of traffic. Owner: ad ops lead. Effort: low.
A report is a ranked list of findings in this form, followed by a short roadmap that sets the order of work. Each item says what we saw, where, why it matters and who would fix it.
What you get
An audit is a fixed piece of work with documents at the end. You receive:
• A map of your tags, wrappers, platforms and data flows as they actually run.
• A ranked list of findings with evidence.
• A roadmap that puts the fixes in order.
• A short call to walk through the findings, with early notice of anything urgent.
Decision criteria: when to commission an audit
An audit is useful before a platform change, after a drop in revenue or fill that nobody can explain, when several vendors overlap, or when ad tech costs are rising without a clear reason. It is less useful if your team already has a clear map of the stack and recent test results.
Decide what you want out of it first: a cost review, a speed review, a data-flow map, or a go/no-go on a migration. A narrow question gives a more useful answer.
How it works
Scope and Access
We agree goals, properties and platforms in scope, and set up read-only access to the tools and reports we need.
Technical Review
We inspect tags, wrappers, data flow and platform settings, then test live pages and apps across devices.
Findings Workshop
We walk your team through what we found, with evidence, and agree which items matter most to the business.
Roadmap and Handover
You receive a ranked plan with owners and sequence. We can support delivery or hand it fully to your team.

Ad Server and Platform Migration
A packaged project to move ad servers and ad tech platforms: planning, mapping, rebuild, parallel QA, cutover and hypercare, with no gap in delivery.
Privacy and Consent Compliance
Technical review of consent management, IAB TCF, GPP and Google Consent Mode across your ad tech stack, with tag audits that find consent leakage before it spreads.
Identity and Cookieless Readiness
Plan for signal loss where third-party cookies are blocked or restricted: identity solutions, first-party data, contextual and seller-defined audiences, tested before you commit budget.
Ad Tech Data Pipelines
Pull DSP, SSP and ad server data through APIs into BigQuery or Snowflake, normalize it once and give your team trusted dashboards without manual exports.
FAQ
What does the audit cover?
It covers ad tags, wrappers, header bidding or SSP setup, ad server configuration, tracking and measurement calls, and how data moves between platforms. We agree the exact scope at the start, based on your properties and the questions your team needs answered.
Do you review contracts and fees?
We review vendor terms and fee structures in general terms, such as overlapping tools, unclear take rates and renewal timing, to support your own decisions. We are not a law firm, so legal review of contracts stays with your counsel.
How long does an audit take?
Timing depends on the number of properties, platforms and apps in scope. We confirm a schedule once scope is agreed, and share early findings during the work if something urgent comes up, so you do not wait for the final report.
Can you also fix what you find?
Yes. Many clients ask us to take on the top items from the roadmap, such as tag clean-up, platform migration or QA processes. It is optional. You can keep the roadmap and deliver it with your own team or other partners.
How is an audit priced?
Audits are normally priced as a fixed project fee based on the number of properties, platforms and apps in scope. Ongoing advisory is usually a monthly retainer. Percentage-of-media pricing is not used for independent review, because it would give the reviewer a reason to prefer some answers. We confirm scope and fee in writing before the work starts.
